“HURTS LIKE HEAVEN” VIDEO PREMIERES TODAY

Animated Clip Introduces Mylo Xyloto Comic Series,

Coming Via Bongo Comics In 2013 And Available For Pre-Order Now

Making-of Film Available For Android Users Via Xperia Lounge App

Today Coldplay unveiled the animated video for “Hurts Like Heaven,” the fifth and final single from the band’s worldwide No. 1 album, Mylo Xyloto. It can be viewed now at Coldplay.com.

The video, directed by Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda, MORE, and the upcoming The Little Prince), charts a graffiti gang’s colorful but doomed rebellion against Major Minus and his oppressive regime. It is the prequel to the story of Mylo Xyloto, which will be told via the six-part Mylo Xyloto comic series to be released monthly by Matt Groening’s celebrated Bongo Comics beginning in February 2013. The pre-order for the comic series launched today at Coldplay.com.

An exclusive making-of film for the “Hurts Like Heaven” video is available to Android users via the Xperia Lounge app (http://cldp.ly/xperialng). The app also features two full tracks from Coldplay’s forthcoming concert film / live album, Live 2012, which Capitol Records will release on CD/DVD, Blu-ray/CD and digitally on November 20. Premium network EPIX will premiere the tour film on November 17 as an EPIX Original Concert Event in the U.S. on TV, online at EpixHD.com, and on EPIX apps on hundreds of devices including Xbox consoles, iPads, iPhones, Roku players, and more.

The videos for Mylo Xyloto’s four previous singles have together been viewed more than 267 million times on YouTube/Vevo. Mylo XylotoColdplay’s third consecutive studio album to debut atop both the Billboard 200 and the U.K. album chart – scored the most No. 1 rankings of any 2011 album, topping the charts in 34 countries. Coldplay has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and won numerous awards, including seven GRAMMY®s, seven BRITs, six Q Awards and five MTV Video Music Awards.
