Rolling Stone praised the band’s “ferocious six-song performance” on a recent episode of “Austin City Limits.” View Alabama Shakesperforming “Don’t Wanna Fight” HERE or check out the complete episode HERE.

The New York Times put Sound & Coloron its list of the Best Albums of 2015, observing, “The band still shows its roots, from Brittany Howard’s swoops and shouts on down, and its songs still have down-to-earth messages like ‘Don’t Wanna Fight.’ But the music steers away from echoes of particular eras…For Alabama Shakes, soulfulness isn’t a thing of the past.”

Sound & Color, which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and also topped the Independent, Digital, Rock, Alternative, Internet and Vinyl Albums charts, appeared on many other best-of-2015 lists, including NPR Music, which hailed it as “timeless yet transformative” and Rolling Stone, which called it “one of the year’s most daring interstellar groove journeys.”

Alabama Shakes – comprising Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, bassist Zac Cockrell, drummer Steve Johnson, and touringkeyboard players Ben Tanner and Paul Horton – are nominated for two NAACP Image Awards nominations: Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration and Outstanding Music Video. The band has also received a BRIT Awards nomination for Best International Band. Billboard named Howard as the 2015 Women in Music “Powerhouse” artist.

“Don’t Wanna Fight” was named Song of the Year at the 2015 FMQB Triple A Conference. “Sound & Color,” the album’s title track, was heard in the new iPad Pro commercial and the accompanying video, which can be seen HERE, was nominated for the VEVO Vision Award.
