NORTH AMERICAN SUMMER TOUR MAY 15th

Seven-time GRAMMY® winner Coldplay will launch a North American tour in West Palm Beach, FL on May 15th. Tickets may be purchased at www.coldplay.com. (See below for a complete itinerary and on-sale dates.)

Coldplay performed with Jay-Z at the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast event in February and the band, which was nominated for seven awards, won Song Of The Year (for “Viva La Vida”). Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals (for “Viva La Vida”) and Best Rock Album (for Viva La Vida). Just prior to the telecast, CBS’ “60 Minutes” ran a segment on the group.

Viva La Vida was released in June 2008 and charted at No. 1 in 36 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. In the U.S., it ranked #1 on the Top Ten Selling Digital Albums chart for 2008 – and it is also the top-selling digital album in SoundScan history. Viva La Vida is the band’s fourth consecutive studio album to be certified multi-Platinum by the RIAA and is fast approaching 8 million units sold worldwide. The band was honored with two Q Awards and two World Music Awards in 2008.
