DAVE MATTHEWS BAND’S BAMA WORKS FUND AWARDS $100,000 GRANT TO WEST, TEXAS DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS FUND

Grant Will Benefit Victims And Support Relief Efforts Following The Devastating Fertilizer Plant Explosion In West, Texas

Dave Matthews Band Kicks Off 2013 Summer Tour This Friday,

May 17, With First Of Three Concerts In Texas

The Bama Works Fund of Dave Matthews Band has awarded a $100,000 grant to the West, Texas Disaster Relief Efforts Fund. Established by three local foundations – Cooper, Rapoport, and Waco – the West, Texas Disaster Relief Efforts Fund has been endorsed by the West City Council as the preferred recipient of all charitable donations for victims and relief efforts following the fertilizer plant explosion that took place on April 17, 2013 in West, Texas.

More than 200 people were injured in the explosion and 15 people lost their lives, including 11 firefighters. A school, a nursing home, an apartment complex and nearly 100 homes were heavily damaged (with some structures completely destroyed) and must be demolished.

The West, Texas Disaster Relief Efforts Fund can accept donations in the form of cash, check, credit card or publicly traded securities. To donate online or learn more about the Fund, visit www.wacofoundation.org and click the West, Texas Disaster Relief Efforts link on the homepage. Inquiries related to charitable contributions can be directed to Melissa Miller, Director of Communications & Donor Services, at Waco Foundation at (254) 754-3404, mmiller@wacofoundation.org.

Housed at Waco Foundation, the West, Texas Disaster Relief Efforts Fund will be advised by the Executive Directors of Cooper, Rapoport and Waco Foundation, as well as a designated representative from the city of West. Together they will identify how to best use the funds and determine priorities, processes and procedures for distributing the funds. Waco Foundation is covering all administrative cost so that 100% of the contributions received from donors will be distributed out to the relief efforts.

Dave Matthews Band – comprising Carter Beauford (drums), Jeff Coffin (saxophone), Stefan Lessard (bass), Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar), Tim Reynolds (guitar), Rashawn Ross (trumpet) and Boyd Tinsley (violin) will launch its 2013 summer tour with a trio of shows in Texas. On May 17, the group will play The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, marking its 21st show at the venue. Dave Matthews Band will perform at Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas the following evening, May 18, and play its first-ever show at Tower Amphitheatre in Austin on May 21.
